The specific objective of the project is to improve the institutional framework for food safety by strengthening the existing system of competent bodies and institutions. The project has three components: • Component 1: Administrative and Institutional strengthening of the Food and Veterinary Agency, Phytosanitary Directorate and State Phytosanitary Laboratory; • Component 2: Phytosanitary Monitoring Programmes; • Component 3: Preparation for Accreditation of inspection services in accordance with adequate EU standard - EN 45004 or another standard if more relevant for the tasks in question.
