The IADB is preparing the foundation for assisting its beneficiary countries to develop specific detailed plans for Universal Access to Modern Energy including detailed economic analysis based on geo-referenced data, current resources, grid and generation optimization plans, among other important points in creating a holistic plan. Since a barrier to reaching universal access is the available resources for developing these plans, the bank wishes to quantify and demonstrate some potential advantages of planning for universal access. The objective of this assignment consists in assisting the Energy Division of the IADB to perform a regional analysis of the current access situation and provide a forecast of the investment needed to reach universal access in the Americas region. The project will also provide detailed 2012 information about each IDAB member country related to the SE4ALL pillar of Access to Modern Energy.
