The Moldova Energy and Biomass Project was implemented during 2011-2018 with a total budget of 23,41 million EUR provided by the European Union and was co-funded (560,000 EUR), and implemented by the UNDP. In the context of a clearly identified need to further support the consolidation of the emerging biomass market in the country, the European Union allocated an additional 9.46 million EUR funding to the project phase 2 from January 2015-November 2018, also implemented by the UNDP. The project is to provide the relevant evaluation services of the European Union, the interested stakeholders and the wider public . As a final evaluation, the findings will necessarily contribute to accountability by providing an assessment of the results of both phases, and how these can feed into lessons learned for the future, to inform the planning of the future EU interventions and Actions in the energy sector.
