The meeting in Brussels was intended to give civil society organisations from Bangladesh a voice in Europe. The event hold from the 13th to 17th of April 2010 provided the opportunity to exchange views with key civil society representatives from Bangladesh as well as between them and European NGOs, think tanks and academics. The meeting was composed of four working sessions, two in the morning and two in the afternoon covering the following topics: • Topic 1: One year after the elections: current challenges in Bangladesh’s governance; • Topic 2: Towards a middle income status? Current issues in the development of Bangladesh; • Topic 3: The climate change threat: coping strategies at local and international level; • Topic 4: The debate over values in Bangladesh: human rights, gender and religion. Destrée Organisation was ensuring the smooth running of the meeting in Brussels, assisted the 12 participants of Bangladeshi origin and supported the logistical aspects as described below.
