Application Européenne de Technologies et de Services (AETS) is a leading institutional consulting company serving the EU in the development and implementation of their overall policies, including development cooperation and international partnerships. We work mainly for the European Commission (INTPA, DG MARE, DG TRADE, DG SANTE…) and other multilateral organisations (EBRD, AFD, WB, MCC…). We mainly work in the following areas:

From the department of Governance and Human Development we price the following solutions:

Studies and consulting services:

  • Strategy and planning: Support for the formulation of policies, programmes and projects;
  • Development of development strategies, identification of priorities;
  • Change management and capacity building: assist organisations in managing change and building their capacities to effectively implement development initiatives.

Research and evaluation

  • Evaluation of policies, programmes and projects
  • Qualitative and quantitative research: data collection and analysis; Focus groups, survey, stakeholder consultations.

Project management

  • Support in the management of complex projects

Profile :

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a creative and dynamic Project Manager for our Department of Governance and Human Development in our Brussels Office.

Main tasks will include:

  • Revising expert’s inputs and implementing project activities: Collaborate with experts to refine project deliverables, establish clear deadlines ensuring alignment with project timelines, coordinate with the client to validate final versions, schedule regular meetings with project team members and stakeholders to review progress, and document meeting outcomes and decisions in official meeting minutes.
  • Management of contracts, budget, and invoice control: oversee the creation and negotiation of contracts, for example with service providers, vendors, or new experts. Monitor project expenditures to adhere to budget constraints. Coordinate with the finance department to track invoices and verify payments.
  • Drafting of reports: progress reports every six months, interim reports annually,
  • Supervision of communication activities: Work closely with the communication expert to develop engaging content for newsletters, articles, social media, website. Monitor communication KPIs.
  • Event support: Coordinate logistics for project-related events, compile post-event statistics to evaluate event success.
  • Continuous communication with team members and stakeholders: Maintain open lines of communication with project coordinator, consortium partners, and external experts to facilitate collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Data analysis: Maintain a monthly database of project contacts and stakeholders.
  • If necessary, according to the department needs and workload: Helping to grow the business by conceptualizing proposals, including the negotiation and preparation of prebid agreements, and preparation of expressions of interest;
  • If necessary according to the department needs and workload: Expanding the network of partners and experts, selecting and recruiting experts for long term projects.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Applied Economics, International Relations, Law, Political Science or similar;
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in private consultancy company with the aforementioned responsibilities;
  • Proven experience and interest in project management and capacity to deliver under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including diplomatic skills;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced commercial environment with serial deadlines;
  • Commercial awareness and evidence of an entrepreneurial ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, attention to detail;
  • Computer skills;

  • Ability to prioritise varied workload;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • Excellent English. French knowledge will also be considered an asset;
  • Working experience or interest in the area of EU policies.

 

What we offer:

We offer a full time permanent contract with a competitive salary in line with experience, lunch vouchers, health insurance, transport allocation.

The position will be based in Brussels.
