In 2017, AFD has approved the implementation of a SUNREF programme in Namibia consisting of (i) a credit line financed by AFD of a total amount of EUR 45 M and (ii) a technical assistance facility hosted under responsibility of the Environmental Investment Fund (EIF).
The credit line aim is to finance small and medium projects in the field of energy (Energy savings and Renewable energy), sustainable tourism and sustainable agriculture which are key sectors for Namibia economic growth.
The consortium led by AETS has been chosen to implement the technical assistance facility (TAF). This TAF aims at supporting project developers and partner banks to enable the financing of such projects through the credit line. Other activities consist in capacity building and training of the key actors (Partner banks, project sponsors, EIF), marketing and communication.
