The objective of this project was to undertake the final evaluation of the Mining Sector Support (MSS) Programme which consisted, under 10 projects, to sustain the country’s economic performance through continued mineral production and exports and to alleviate poverty, increase employment opportunities and mitigate mine-induced environmental impacts. The independant assessment of the programme was made under the five evaluation criteria (relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability) and recommendations for potential future actions was defined.
