The Trade Related Technical Assistance Project 3 (TRTA 3) is a development cooperation project by and between the Republic of the Philippines (RP) and the Commission of the European Communities (EC). The overall objective was to contribute to the Philippines' integration into the international and regional trading and investment system. Out of 6 components, Component 4 adressed SPS Conformity to enhance capacities to develop and implement sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) management and control systems in-line with international standards and of producers to comply with these standards. Activity 4.D.1 aimed at developping Philippine capacity to manage national and international alert notifications regarding food or feed involvng a threat to human or animal health. AETS provided to TRTA3 assistance in the elaboration of a strategy for Phil-RASFF (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed), in compliance with EU and INFOSAN expectations, and subsequently developped procedures, manuals and training to implement the system. The outcomes of the mission were introduced as one of the TRTA3 feature achievements at the TRTA3 closing event on March 28th 2017.
