Mongolia has chosen to follow the example of former socialist countries, which have joined the European Union (EU) in the past decade, the EU provided support and technical assistance through the project ‘Support to the Modernisation of Mongolia’s Standardisation System (SMMSS)’; to align with chapter one of the Acquis Communautaire, related to the free movement of goods. After one year of operation, the purpose of the assignment is to undertake a mid-term evaluation of the project in comparing the the activities achieved with the original plan, to draw out lessons from the experience of programme implementation at the date and to make recommendations for the future implementation of the project.
