Aid for Trade (AfT) is the generic concept describing development assistance provided in support of partner countries' efforts to develop the capacity to expand their trade, to foster economic growth and to more effectively use trade in poverty reduction. The overall objective of the assignment is to support the monitoring of the EU common commitments in the area of Aid for Trade, to allow both the EU and international stakeholders to assess whether sufficient progress is being made, and to draw relevant policy conclusions. Following the data collection exercise for the 2011 EU Aid for Trade Monitoring report, the specific purpose for this external support is to assist the Commission in collecting, screening, synthesising and analysing relevant quantitative data (up to 2010) which will serve as input to the 2012 EU monitoring report on AfT.
