The programme “Support to Economic Policies: Strategic Planning, Private Sector Development and Technical Regulations” was part of the 2010 Annual Action Programme in favour of Turkmenistan, where bilateral programmes within this priority area have been focused on supporting the Government of Turkmenistan's strategy to build a sustainable and diversified economy.
The overall objective was to support Turkmenistan's economic diversification.
Three specific objectives made an interrelated approach to achieve the overall objective:
1. Support the long term strategic development of the country;
2. Support the development of the private sector;
3. Enhance the integration of the Turkmen economy in the global market.
The project was implemented in Turkmenistan. The programme was EU-funded, and managed by the European Commission.
