The European Union is strongly looking to further develop its trade and investment relationship with Zambia. In this framework, the EU-Zambia Business Club (EUZBC) was created to discuss investment and trade matters affecting EU firms based in Zambia or willing to invest in the country and to impact ultimately on the improvement of the business environment of Zambia. In cooperation with the EU Delegation in the country and the EUZBC, AETS is implementing an EU funded projects untitled “Economic Impact of EU investment in Zambia”. Its overall objective is to support an enabling business environment in Zambia in order to encourage investments by European businesses. More specifically, through this project, AETS will contribute to (1) giving a better understanding regarding the EU investors present in Zambia and their impact on the Zambian economy; (2) facilitating the task of the EU-Zambia Business Club Steering Committee and of the EU investors in Zambia to define the best way forward to customize and promote the EU-Zambia Business Club. AETS’s team is currently finalizing the Inception Phase.
