The "Support to Union Controls in the EU and in Third Countries" aimed to provide a support to the Food and Veterinary Office in the organisation of 24 training courses during two years. Those courses aimed to train a pool of national experts from EU Member States, so as they will be able to accompany at best FVO team during their audits missions in the EU and in Third Countries. Participants were taught on general procedures and requirements for the conduct of FVO audits, but the course also focused on one of the 12 identified areas of expertise (animal welfare, border inspection posts, pesticides and contaminants, aquaculture, etc.). The project implemented 24 courses within a two years programme, and trained 366 participants.
