Solid waste is one of the largest GHG emission sources in India and is expected to increase many folds in next decade. The India-EU partnership recommends interventions on solid waste management through investment in green waste management technologies, including waste to energy as areas for cooperation that can bring added value in improving the environment, ensuring inclusive growth, job creation and mitigating local and global climate change impacts.
