The European Commission has financed the electrification of 23 local communities in the Ivory Coast during the period 2011 – 2014. All communities were electrified through grid extension using low and medium voltage grids and public lighting. The objectives of the assignment were to improve the electrification rate in Ivory Coast and to improve the efficiency and expand the impact of Europe Union financed interventions in the country. In 2014, the Delegation of the European Union commissioned AETS to perform a technical audit to the electrification of the 23 communities. This evaluation included the analysis of the relevance of the project within the country context and an assessment of the quality of all the equipment and strategy employed to guarantee the durability of the 23 projects.
