The European Union funded a pilot project in Jordan called “Wind Energy and Concentrating Solar Power” (WECSP). It aimed at supporting the National Energy Research Centre (NERC) to steer and facilitate the implementation of the Jordanian Government’s Renewable Energy Strategy 2007-2020. The programme included the construction of two pilot plants: a 1.65 MW wind farm and a 1 MW CSP plant. Before their commissioning, a study was necessary to assess the impact of these plants on the national grid. AETS was therefore chosen to carry out this grid impact study and particularly to analyse the following aspects: I. Steady state analysis II. Constrained interface analysis, III. Stability analysis and IV. Short circuit analysis V. Harmonic Analysis
